I am the Owner and founder of Nest Family Counselling! My work is primarily focused on relationships: the relationship you have with yourself and the relationship you have with others.

Like many of you, I wear many hats in life. My favourites include Wife, Stepmom, Counsellor and World Traveller! These roles help to provide a layer of empathy and understanding.

I am down to earth and understand real-life challenges. I utilize both humour and honesty in session. I am collaborative and work together with clients to create personalized plans and provide tools to guide you forward and help you achieve your desired goals.

I specialize in Separation, Divorce, Marriage, Marriage Reconciliation and Bi-nuclear families (blended and stepfamilies). I subscribe to a strength-based approach and believe that to help others, we must first help ourselves. I use Cognitive-Behavioural strategies in combination with narrative therapy to explore deconstructive beliefs that are negatively influencing multiple aspects of your life.

I am a Canadian Certified Counselling. I have a Masters in Counselling Psychology and a Gottman Method Couples Therapy trained clinician that is approved to administer the Relationship Checkup and use Gottman resources and tools to help clients and couples discover areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.

I believe healing happens through connection with ourselves, with others, and with the parts we carry quietly. As a deep feeler and compassionate observer, I hold space with warmth and presence while welcoming the fullness of your experience, the messiness, the meaning, and the gentle return to self.

Many of the people I work with are sensitive, thoughtful, and outwardly strong. Inside, they may feel anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected. You might be navigating burnout, struggling with thoughts and feelings around your body image, or yearning to feel more at home with who you are. I’m especially passionate about supporting women, caregivers, and heart-led entrepreneurs who want to rebuild self-trust, soften inner criticism, and reconnect with a steadier, more embodied sense of self.

Our work together is gentle and intentional. We’ll explore what’s present with compassion, shift old patterns, and support your nervous system in feeling more resilient. I bring a holistic, integrative lens that honours all parts of you, blending present-moment awareness with an understanding of how past experiences and attachment patterns may still shape how you move through the world.

Rooted in trauma-informed care and relational depth, my approach uses EMDR for trauma healing, ACT to build inner flexibility, and parts work with self-compassion to help you meet your inner being with tenderness and clarity. With a background in yoga, I also weave in somatic tools and polyvagal-informed practices to support nervous system regulation and embodied healing.

I also support couples in deepening emotional connection, moving through conflict with greater attunement, and navigating life transitions as a team.

Whether you’re working through anxiety, burnout, body-based distress, or a longing to feel more grounded and whole, there is space here for your story. If you’re ready to come home to yourself, I would be honoured to walk alongside you.

I believe healing happens through connection with ourselves, with others, and with the parts we c... Read More

Connecting with others and aiding them on their journey of healing and self-discovery is my passion!

Many people believe therapy to be a one-sided conversation with minimal opportunity to interact or experience one another as real people. I aim to give my authentic self to my clients where I invite them to ask questions and share their thoughts, experiences, and emotions.

My clients appreciate my ability to create a safe, relaxed environment with a healthy dose of humour. I want to help you find healing and make the changes in your life you are looking for, while you enjoy the journey as much as possible.

I work primarily from a client-centred, holistic approach where I empower clients to see their own inner strengths as they move through personal growth and healing.

I have competency and training in Person-Centered Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Self-Compassion, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Gottman’s Couples Therapy. The approach or combination of approaches I employ will be tailored to meet your needs and personality.

Whether you want a safe place to process life experiences or address a mental health concern, I would love to help you reach your goals. Taking the step to begin therapy can be an overwhelming decision, but you and I can work together to put you at ease throughout the process.

Hi, I’m Claire! I’m a mom of two, a wife, a child therapist, and an avid learner. I know firsthand how full life can feel. Between work, caring for your children, scheduling appointments, running kids to activities, and carrying the constant mental load, it’s still easy to find yourself questioning whether you’re doing enough as a parent. Seeing your child struggle is hard, especially when you’re unsure how to help. You might be noticing big emotions, worries that don’t seem to go away, difficulties with friends, anger outbursts, withdrawal, or sleep challenges. As parents, we want our children to thrive as they grow into adulthood.

As a child therapist, my goal is to create a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe enough to express themselves, and where parents feel like partners in the process. I specialize in working with children ages 3–11 and support families through challenges such as emotional regulation difficulties, transitions and life changes (including separation or divorce), social struggles, stress or trauma-related responses, and understanding what a child may be communicating through their behavior. When one family member is struggling, it often affects the whole family, and I aim to support families in finding balance, understanding, and healing together.

I am a Registered Clinical Social Worker (#21021) and am currently completing a Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD). I am a play therapy intern working toward certification with the Canadian Association of Play Therapy, a Certified AutPlay Practitioner, a Certified EMDR Therapist, and a Certified Safe and Sound Protocol Provider. I also work as a Clinical Supervisor with CASA Mental Health, where I support and mentor other therapists in providing child therapy.

I live in Sherwood Park with my husband, our two children, our dog, and my dad in a multi-generational household. As both a therapist and a parent, I understand how deeply parents want their children to feel safe, connected, and confident in who they are.
